Application Area

Since there were several things to be improved in finance and supply chain areas. With Business Central 2022 Wave 1, Microsoft included functions to ensure seamless and efficient flow. Well, there is a long list of features comprising blocking deletion of G/L accounts, auto-accept transactions for intercompany journals, improved bank reconciliation, allowing sell-to and bill-to customers for different jobs, consolidating customer and vendor balances, fixed quantity in Bill of Materials, and the list goes on.

Improved Compatibility with Microsoft 365

Through Dynamics 365 Business Central 2022 Wave 1, Microsoft is continuously working toward improving the Microsoft 365 experience by ensuring compatibility when it comes to integrating with the Excel database. To support seamless and improved collaboration via Teams, Microsoft enabled users to retrieve Business Central pages into the Teams platform.

This new release will enrich developers with extensive tools and capabilities in terms of stronger AL language, allowing new permission set capabilities, an option to export a report dataset to the XML, starting and stopping the user flow capture, data monitoring, snapshot downloading, set of GitHub templates, etc.

Governance & Administration

The new version of Business Central will also enrich the administrators in terms of security wherein they will be able to define different permissions for different users or user groups according to different product licenses and plans. Developers and Administrators will be able to access performance-based insights into the performance database. This year’s Wave 1 release will help users with features enhancements like accessing insights into database wait statistics.

Moreover, whenever the user gets an error dialog, it will be logged to telemetry. Partner will be able to get insights into errors that users get during their setup as well as can help them to get unblocked. A support engineer will be able to effortlessly find data in telemetry, particularly for a given user.
